Terms of Use
Welcome to RentHub ("the Platform", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our mobile application, website, or related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activities under your account. You may not create multiple accounts to bypass limits, impersonate another person or entity, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
2. User roles
- Tenants / seekers / students / buyers — search listings, book viewings, message owners, and browse Student Housing where available.
- Landlords / sellers — list properties for rent or sale, manage availability, and respond to inquiries.
- Administrators — moderate content, enforce rules, and manage platform operations.
Different features, limits, and pricing may apply depending on your role.
3. Property listings
By listing a property, landlords and sellers confirm they are the legal owner or authorised agent, that listing information is truthful and up to date, and that listings do not violate local laws or third-party rights. We may remove or suspend listings that are misleading, illegal, or abusive.
4. Bookings & viewings
Booking a viewing is a request, not a guarantee. A booking becomes confirmed only after the landlord confirms. The Platform helps prevent double-booking of the same unit at the same time. Repeated no-shows, cancellations, or abusive behaviour may result in reduced privileges, suspension, or a permanent ban.
5. Payments, subscriptions & fees
Some features require payment (for example listing credit / publish fees and Active Tenancy unlocks). Current published prices are in the listing tariffs guide. When we restore wallet credit or refund cash is explained in the Refund policy. Fees are generally non-refundable except as that policy or applicable law requires. Pricing and features may change with notice. Rent or purchase prices between users are arranged between the parties — RentHub does not collect monthly rent through the app today.
6. Ratings, reviews & content
Reviews must be honest, non-defamatory, and based on genuine experience. We may remove abusive, fake, irrelevant, or legally problematic content. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display user-generated content on the Platform.
7. Communications
The Platform provides messaging and in-app calling for user communication. You agree not to harass, threaten, or spam other users; share illegal or offensive content; or circumvent the Platform to avoid fees. We may monitor communications only for safety, moderation, or legal compliance.
8. Identity verification
Certain users may be required to submit identity documents for verification and fraud prevention. Failure to verify when required may result in restricted access.
9. Account suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or restrict features if you violate these Terms, provide false information, engage in fraud or illegal activity, or harm other users or the Platform. Termination does not waive outstanding fees or obligations.
10. Disclaimers
We are not a real estate agent, broker, or property owner. We do not guarantee accuracy of listings, behaviour of users, or completion of any rental or sale transaction. Agreements you make with another user are directly between you and them. Always verify listing details, attend viewings, and confirm terms before committing or paying.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for property conditions, disputes between users, or losses arising from bookings or communications. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to us in the last 12 months.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, your listings or content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. Contact support for privacy requests.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
