RentHub ("we", "us", "our") operates the RentHub mobile application and related services that connect tenants and landlords in Zimbabwe and other markets we support. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies if you:
- browse listings as a guest or registered tenant;
- create a tenant account, save listings, message landlords, or book viewings;
- register as a landlord, submit verification documents, or publish listings; or
- contact our support team about the Service.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use RentHub, we may collect:
- Account details — name, phone number, email address, profile photo, and role (tenant or landlord).
- Identity verification — face photo, government ID, and proof of address when required for messaging, bookings, or landlord verification.
- Listing and booking data — property details, photos, pricing, viewing requests, messages, and reviews.
- Device and technical data — device identifiers used for account security, app version, and push notification tokens.
- Usage information — actions in the app (such as searches, saves, and messages) to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Payment-related data — for landlords, records of listing slot purchases processed through our payment partners (we do not store full card numbers).
- Support communications — information you send when you contact us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage your account;
- verify identity and reduce fraud;
- display listings, enable messaging, and coordinate viewings between users;
- send service notifications (for example viewing updates, messages, and account alerts);
- process landlord payments for listing features where applicable;
- enforce our Terms of Use and keep users safe;
- improve performance, fix issues, and develop new features; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
We process your information where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), where required by law, where you have given consent (for example marketing where enabled), and where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (such as fraud prevention and platform security).
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:
- Between users — landlords and tenants see relevant profile and booking details needed to arrange viewings and communicate about listings.
- With service providers — hosting, email/SMS delivery, payment processing, file storage, and analytics providers that help us run RentHub under contractual safeguards.
- For legal and safety reasons — when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to respond to lawful requests.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.
6. Storage, security, and retention
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and secure storage for sensitive documents. Verification files and account data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for legal, tax, dispute, or safety purposes.
The app may store limited browsing data on your device so you can view saved listings offline. You can clear this by removing the app or using device settings where available.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- access or receive a copy of your personal data;
- correct inaccurate information in your profile;
- request deletion of your account, subject to legal retention requirements;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

8. Children
RentHub is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided data and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in Zimbabwe and in countries where our infrastructure or service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate protections when data is transferred across borders.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of RentHub after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
